How to connect Twilio to Bistroo

Create a Twilio account at twilio.com and purchase a phone number.

Note your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token from the Twilio Console.

Go to Bistroo Merchant Portal → Integrations → Twilio.

Enter Account SID, Auth Token and your Twilio phone number.

Configure your message templates per event and activate the integration.

Frequently asked questions

Which messages can I automate via Twilio?

You can set up messages for: order confirmation, order accepted, ready for pickup, delivery driver on the way and order delivered. Every template is freely customizable.

Does each SMS cost extra?

Yes, Twilio charges per SMS sent. Rates vary per country; for the Netherlands this is approximately €0.03–€0.05 per message. Check the current Twilio prices at twilio.com.

Can I also send WhatsApp messages via Twilio?

Yes. Twilio supports the WhatsApp Business API. You can activate this after having a WhatsApp Business account approved by Meta. Ask our support team for help with the configuration.

In how many languages can I send messages?

Your message templates are completely free to fill in, so you can compose messages in any language. By default, the Bistroo templates are available in Dutch.

Can I pause notifications outside opening hours?

Yes. In your Bistroo settings you can set a time window per message type. Outside this window, messages are buffered or suppressed depending on your preference.
